19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from March of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an better serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent saved four initial break points in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
